New emoji set is coming soon and Meleklerin Payi sponsored the whisky emoji

Whether we use Instagram or Twitter, emoji are an integral part of our daily communication. The current set of drink emoji like cocktail glass, wine glass, beer glasses are among the mostly used emojis by all users of social media.

Having all drinks except whisky is a long standing discussion and for that Ballantine’s even conducted a social media campaign: Where is the #whiskyemoji ? . The Unicode Consortium is the authority that controls and approves universal software standards for letters and other characters. In June, The Unicode Consortium approved a set of 72 new emoji among which there’s a whisky tumbler (don’t mind the ice cubes, you can use it for you favorite single malt or American whiskey:)

The Unicode Consortium also has the campaign called Adopt-A-Character that gives the opportunity to permanently adopt and dedicate an emoji, letter or any symbol on the keyboard.

An early birthday present. We finally have the whisky emoji with the iOS 10.2 update. Its a tumbler with no ice!!
